The restoration of this grand manor house in East Hampton set out to return it to its original scale and elegance. Uncharacteristic additions from previous owners were removed, and the dull, grey exterior was revived with a bright ochre lime-based stucco, bringing warmth back to the house. New landscaping reconnected the house to its surroundings with a courtyard, reflecting pool, and a swimming pool shaded by a canopy supported by an existing arcaded “ruin.” The result is a home that feels anchored once again in its landscape, ready for a new chapter.
